This one-hour course is an introduction to hoarding disorder for laypeople, not medical or support professionals. It teaches about hoarding disorder using as little confusing medical jargon, references to brain scans, or tons of statistics as possible. The course examines the characteristics of the mental illness, why hoarding is such a challenging disorder, what financial and physical risks a realtor takes on when attempting to represent a hoarded structure, some tools a REALTOR can use to interact with a person with hoarding behaviors; resources for people with hoarding challenges and/or their loved ones and other people in the situation.
