The first part of the course is a look back at the basics of buyer agency and how SC law impacts its practice. Starting with the required paperwork for disclosure and documentation, it flows through buyer client selection, a basic buyer agency presentation, discussions regarding commitments and responsibilities of the buyer client, and the buyer agency agreement.
The second part of the course focuses on the actual practice of buyer agency, including the duties of the buyer agent as stated in SC law, using technology and diligence in searching for properties, gathering information, drafting a buyer-friendly purchase offer, negotiating that offer, and working to close on behalf of the buyer client. Diligence and client care are stressed to reduce the risk of representing the buyer and the use of checklists and forms is encouraged.
