Biography of Robert Allen Boucher

    Robert (Bob) Allen Boucher was born in Alice, Texas in December of 1959 as a Navy dependent of a U.S. enlisted Sailor and grew up in a number of locations where he and his family finally settled down in Lugoff, South Carolina in 1974.   Upon graduation from high school in 1978 he enlisted into the U.S. Navy working as a Cryptologic Technician Administrator where he served for over 24 years in a number of challenging positions and duty stations domestically and abroad.  These locations included Charleston, South Carolina; Keflavik, Iceland; Misawa, Japan; Pensacola, Florida; Terceria Island, Azores; Fort Meade, Maryland; Alice Springs, Australia; and finally in Augusta, Georgia where he retired honorably in 2002.  During his tenure in the Navy, Bob was promoted to the top of the enlisted ranks as a Command Master Chief.

    Upon retirement from the U.S. Navy in July 2002, Bob was immediately employed with the Department of the Navy as a Management Specialist assigned to support a major Naval intelligence unit located at Fort Gordon, Georgia.  He was employed with this unit until his second retirement from the U.S. Government in April 2022 serving as the Director of Mission Support.  His responsibilities included management oversight, control and continuity of four major departments providing administration, facilities, logistics, information technology and training services to over 1,300 Sailors and civilians assigned.  Over the course of the last 44 years of service with the Department of the Navy as an enlisted member and civilian, he has received numerous military decorations and civilian performance awards.

    Currently, Bob works as a licensed Real Estate Agent in South Carolina assigned to Amanda Real Estate Group in Edgefield, SC.  He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Business (Cum Laude) with Excelsior College and an Associate in Business Degree with Trident Technical College.  In July of 2010, he completed the Navy Senior Leadership Course from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.  

    Bob has been married to Cheryl Joyce of Charleston, South Carolina since 1984 and they currently live in North Augusta, South Carolina.  They have two sons, one daughter, and four grandchildren with another on the way.  His grandchildren affectionately call him GrandBob.
